Most bathroom renovation projects involve five main areas of cost: labour, the bathroom suite and fittings, wall and floor tiles, building materials and waste disposal.
This guide explains how each one is normally handled and what can affect it, so you can make informed choices about the bathroom you want.
What costs are involved in a bathroom renovation?

What can affect the cost?
Bathroom size alone does not determine the price. The amount of removal, plumbing, fitting and tiling involved can make a greater difference.
Partial bathroom updates
A partial bathroom update can cover many different jobs. Examples include changing a vanity unit, replacing a bath or refurbishing a shower area.
The cost depends on the plumbing, fitting, tiling and other work needed for that particular update.
Keeping or changing the layout
Keeping the main fittings in similar positions normally requires fewer plumbing changes. Moving several fittings or altering walls and doorways involves more work.
Choice of fittings
Standard, accessible fittings are normally simpler to install and maintain. Concealed systems and more complicated bathroom furniture require additional installation work.
Tiling
The tiled area, tile size, pattern and setting out all affect the work. Full-height tiling, smaller tiles and detailed areas around windows or corners usually take longer.
Condition of the walls and floors
Walls and floors that need levelling, boarding or other work before fitting or tiling can affect the overall cost.
Additional agreed work
Plastering, lighting, ventilation, underfloor heating or other requested improvements can also affect the overall cost.

During the visit, Vlad can usually give you an initial estimate for the work, even if the final bathroom suite, fittings and tiles have not yet been chosen.
A detailed quote can then be prepared once the exact scope of work and the main product choices are clear. This makes it easier for you to see what is included and allows the work and materials to be organised efficiently.
The quote is based on your bathroom and your choices rather than a general figure that may not apply.

A short description is enough for your first message. Photographs of the bathroom, including any leak or damaged area, can help with an initial estimate, while links to fittings or tiles become useful when the detailed quote is being prepared.
