Bathroom Renovation and Tiling FAQs
The answers below cover practical questions customers often ask before and during bathroom or tiling work.
Starting Your Enquiry
What should I include in my first message?
A short description is enough for your first message. Photographs and links to any bathroom fittings or tiles you are considering can follow later. If there is a leak or damaged area, a photograph of it is useful.
Can you give an initial estimate from photographs, or will you need to visit first?
Often, yes. After you get in touch, photographs can help Vlad give an initial estimate. A visit may still be needed before the work and price are confirmed.
Quotations, Materials and Payment
Who buys the bathroom suite, fittings and tiles?
You normally buy the bathroom suite, fittings and wall and floor tiles. Vlad can help prepare or check your shopping list, advise on suitability and product quality, recommend commonly used suppliers and pass on any available trade discounts.
Who supplies the building materials?
Cube supplies the building materials needed for the agreed bathroom or tiling work. You are charged the price Cube pays, with any available trade discounts passed on to you. When the work is complete, you receive a detailed breakdown of the materials supplied and their final cost.
How is waste disposal handled?
You can arrange waste disposal yourself, or Cube can provide a separate price to organise it.
Is a booking deposit required?
For most complete bathroom renovations, a £300 booking deposit is required to reserve the agreed start date. This helps Cube plan the schedule reliably and keep the time set aside for each customer. The deposit is deducted from the final amount, and the main payment is made on completion.
Does Cube charge VAT?
No VAT is charged on labour.
Timescales and Practical Arrangements
How soon could the work start?
This depends on the current schedule, the work involved and when the chosen fittings and tiles will be available. Vlad can discuss the earliest practical start date once the details are clearer.
How long does a standard full bathroom project usually take?
Most standard full bathroom projects take approximately 5–7 working days. Larger rooms or projects involving additional preparation, plumbing changes, detailed tiling or longer drying times may take longer.
Can I use the bathroom while work is taking place?
During a complete bathroom renovation, the bathroom will normally be out of use while the work is taking place. During a partial update, the toilet or other unaffected facilities may remain available, depending on the work involved.
When can a newly tiled shower be used?
For a newly tiled shower area, Vlad normally recommends waiting approximately one week after grouting before using the shower, allowing the grout to dry and cure properly.
How are floors protected and the work area left?
Floor protection is used where needed. The work area is organised and given a basic clean at the end of each day, then cleaned and left tidy when the work is finished.
Bathroom and tiling work can still create dust, especially when old tiles are being removed, so moving loose belongings and keeping nearby doors closed where practical can help.
Is final painting included?
Final painting is normally arranged separately. Cube focuses on bathroom fitting, tiling and practical installation work.
